Oh Hello, my name is Claus, like Santa Claus. I am a nine month old male that weighs about 23 pounds right now. I am a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier mix. I was brought to a local animal shelter by someone who said they found me. I waited over a week for my family to come and find me but they never did. I had long matted hair and was ready to get out of there. The rescue came and I was so glad to go with them. I am a growing boy and I know it's time to find a new family.
I am a friendly, bubbly, upbeat kind of guy. I am still growing and may be 30-40 pounds as an adult...or maybe not that big either?? I like other dogs and play pretty rough with them. I like to give affection to my people and am ready to learn more about manners and how to use them. I like a fenced yard and I will run and play with toys. I am house trained and crate trained. I do get a little cautious of new things but show courage and purpose in getting used to them. I need exercise. Maybe we can walk together to play ball if you teach me how. I have a bad habit of jumping up on you and am learning not to but maybe I am not the best for really small children as I might knock them down. I don’t appear to shed and have a very soft coat that will need to be brushed and/or groomed often.
I have been groomed, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. I am also current on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. My adoption fee is 250.00. The first step in adopting me is to complete an application for Claus at dogsasfamily.org. We can grow into a great family, you and I.
