Oh, hello.  My name is Rico. I am male rat terrier, over a year old and I currently weigh about 8 pounds. I came to the rescue after I was found and taken to a animal shelter.  I can't tell you how somebody loses a guy my size but they never came to look for me either. That is my past and I am ready to start a future with a new family.

 I am on my best behavior when I am kept busy.  I am smart and get bored easily.  I like walks, puzzles, playing with toys or bones and my absolute favorite thing is to play fetch! I can jump high and run fast so a secure tall fenced yard is the best option for me.  I admit I like to talk about things to.  So if you are looking for a quiet boy don't pick me.  I like other dogs or could be an only fur child too.  No small children for my new home...I don't like them messing with my things.  There are times I like to cuddle under a blanket or snuggle with you. I will make a big confession, I like clothes and to be dressed up. Put a shirt, sweater, pj's or whatever on me and I will be the most proud, handsome boy you ever met.

  I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  I am current on tick/flea and heartworm preventatives.  My adoption fee is 225.00.  The first step in the process to adopt me, Rico, is to complete an application at dogsasfamily.org.  If you are waiting for a sign, this is it, it's time to adopt me!
