Hi, my name is Maya.  I weigh about twenty pounds and am over a year old.  I came to the rescue after I was taken to the shelter.  I waited for my family but they never came.  Honestly, I was very angry that I was left there.  I am not a mean dog it was that I was so disappointed and scared.  Well, they asked the rescue people if they could help me and here I am.  It took some time for me to understand I was safe but I think I am ready for a home now.

I love to run and play with other dogs in our fenced yard.  I actually watch them to see what I should do.  I  guess I am still learning about life.  I am a smart girl and could learn whatever you want to teach me.  My coat is very soft and pretty.  I am not sure how I will feel about meeting new people but if you give me a chance I will give you one too.  I really want to be loved but sometimes feel like I don't deserve it.

I have been vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and am current on heartworm/flea and tick preventatives.  My adoption fee is 175.00.  The first step in adopting me, Maya, is to complete an application at dogsasfamily.org.  I see a future for us.
