Hi, my name is Romeo.  I am a five year old male that weighs less than 14 pounds.  I may be a wirehaired dachshund mix or just a dachshund terrier mix.  All I know is a have a wiry coat and a docked tail.  I came to the rescue after a horrible ordeal.  Let me explain.  I was out looking for females dogs and found one in her front yard. Then I followed her in the house, that's where the trouble began.  I was trying to have my way with her and some lady grabbed me, I was so scared I bit her.  I immediately regretted it but it was too late.  I had to serve 10 days at the shelter and could only leave with a rescue or they said I would be put to sleep. I am not a mean guy, really.  I just made a mistake.  Now I am ready to find a home with a fenced yard so when I go outside I can stay safely in the yard.

   I have a big deep voice and make a great watch dog.  I am spunky and smart.  I seem to like other dogs and am vocal when I want something.  I will shed some but not as much as a long haired dog. Because of my history I will need to be in a home with adults and no small children.  Sure, I can be stubborn sometimes so you need to know that too.  I am a little thin so I might gain some weight but not too much.

   I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  I am current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  My adoption fee is 150.00.  The first step in taking me home is to complete an adoption application at dogsasfamily.org.  You can be the person who saves my life next, I will be very grateful.
