Hello, please call me Sweet Pea. I am over three years old and weigh about fifty pounds. I was taken to a shelter. I waited but my family never came to claim me. It could have been because I was pregnant, I will never know. What I do know is the rescue came and got me and I am safe and loved here.
When I first came I tested positive for something called ehrlichia. It's a tick-borne illness. They think that may be what caused my 18 precious babies to be still born. I loved them and was so sad. I just couldn't understand why they wouldn't move. It has taken time but I am ready for a new family now. I like other dogs but bigger dogs are better, after all I am a sighthound. I haven't hurt the cat but I show a great deal of interest in it so better to go to a home without one just for safety. I can glide over a four foot fence with no problem so a higher fence is a must. I run like the wind and enjoy it. I know to potty outside. I love children and am very loyal to my family.
I have been spay, vaccinated and microchipped. I have been treated for ehrlichia and my bloodwork is back to normal. My adoption fee is 250.00. The first step in adopting me is to complete an application at www.dogsasfamily.org. I can't wait to look into your eyes and love you unconditionally.
