Hey, my name is Snowball. I just want to say I really don't want to talk about myself but I was told I need to. I mean all this happening to a man my age just makes me unhappy. I am ten years old and my family that had me since I was six weeks old decided they are too old for a pet, so what happens to me, rescue. Don't misunderstand me I am fine here but what the heck happened to my home and family? Why, oh why did this happen to a man my age?
Shortly after I got here they took me to the vet because I had blood and couldn't control my urine. Well the following day I had surgery. It seems I had a very large bladder stone that was removed and I so feel much better. Now I get special food that I love and take medicine everyday so the stones don't come back. I guess I didn't realize how uncomfortable I had been until after the surgery. I guess I thought it was just growing old.
Speaking of that I have dry eyes and they said that was my age. Honestly, I hate it when you wipe my eyes but I can't see unless you do. I love people and sitting by you but growing old is a pain. Some days I am a little grumpy, especially right before meal time. Ok, so maybe it's because I want to eat. I did come in a little overweight but I weigh a healthy 11 lbs now. All that watching your weight is for the birds.
Ok, so there it is. Let me sum this up for you. I am a old man with a few medical issues, I love food, hate my eyes wipes and just want a home to live out the rest of my life in. Do you have a soft bed I can lay on and just hang out with you? I am neutered, vaccinated and groomed. If you want me just go to www.dogsasfamily.com and fill out an application for Snowball. Rescue me.
Don't want an older dog, you say? Please consider that time does not weigh heavily on a dog's consciousness in the same way that it does with humans. Dogs live in the "here and now". The joy and dignity you can bring to an older dog's life by opening your home and heart to him/her is beyond compare. In return, you will find a truly enriching, satisfying, and humbling experience.
****OLD DOGS, LIKE OLD SHOES, ARE COMFORTABLE. THEY MIGHT BE A BIT OUT OF SHAPE, AND A LITTLE WORN AROUND THE EDGES,.... BUT THEY FIT SO WELL.****
