I rescued Sonny from the Chickasha, Oklahoma Animal Shelter last winter right before he was scheduled to be put down. I initially named him Sunny because of his happy personality and because he is so bright (intelligent). I changed the spelling to Sonny to reflect my affection for him (son).
Sonny was not well cared for in his early life. He was left on his own and not given kind or humane treatment. Despite this treatment, he is a very sweet boy. He has been living with me for several months and has had the best of care.
Sonny is crate trained and rides well in a car. He likes dogs. Sonny would be fine as an only dog or as a companion for another dog or dogs. I'm not sure about cats.
Sonny comes when his name is called and his good on a leash.
On one of our walks, we encountered the grandchildren of a neighbor and Sonny responded with great exuberance. He may be too much doggy for toddlers/little kids but he would be a fun companion for bigger kids.
