Hello my new friend. My name is Cocoa, like Hot Cocoa. I am a nine year old male that weighs about 20 pounds. I am a Chocolate Cocker Spaniel. I was brought to a local animal shelter by someone who said they found me. I waited a week for my family to come and find me but they never did. I had long matted hair and was ready to get out of there. The rescue came and I was so glad to go with them. I am ready to find a new family.
I consider myself a friendly, happy guy that doesn’t act my age. I like other dogs but I really don’t care about them. I like my people the best and am a talker. A fenced yard is wonderful and I will run and play ball with you or carry around toys. I like to chew on sturdy toys and will shred soft ones. Even the balls I play with are rubber because I will rip up the tennis ball ones. I am house trained and crate trained. So, I know some good manners, I just choose not to use them sometimes. I think she said I suffer from selective hearing and memory loss, whatever that means. I don’t think I am suffering at all but will admit I can be stubborn at times. My little tail is always wagging and I wiggle too. When I came to the rescue my coat was matted very badly and they had to shave me but left a mohawk on my head.
I have been groomed, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. I also had my teeth cleaned with some extractions. I am current on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. My adoption fee is 200.00. The first step in adopting me is to complete an application for Cocoa at dogsasfamily.org. We can play ball together! I love to play ball.
